More ‘GOOD’ news from Whitesheet Primary Academy!
Is it possible to have too much good news? Certainly not for Zeals and Kilmington based Whitesheet CE Primary Academy. Within weeks of being recognised as OFSTED ‘Good’ the school has been judged as SIAMS ‘Good’ too!
Following the recent SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection their report, just published, recognises Whitesheet as a ‘good’ school. ‘On behalf of the Academy’s Governors I would like to say how rewarding is this outcome following on as it does from the excellent OFSTED ‘good’ result,’ said Lesley Bennett, Chair of Governors. She went on to say, ‘Congratulating must go to our Headteacher Mrs Karen Brooker and the teachers and support staff at Whitesheet for all the commitment and hard work that is behind this significant achievement’.
The report states that “The school’s Christian ethos contributes to the strong family feeling of the community where care and concern is shown for one another”. The SIAMS Inspector also recognised that the school’s children have a good understanding of the nature of prayer and confidently create prayers spontaneously in worship.
The report is very positive and appreciates the leadership of the school. It states the “Effective leadership has raised children’s attainment and ensured religious education and collective worship have a prominent role in the life of the school”.
Lesley Bennett also thanked the parents by saying, ‘Thank you also to our parents for all that they do to help embed the strong Christian values that are a key part of the ethos here at Whitesheet’.
Mark Lacey, CEO of DSAT, the school’s overseeing multi academy trust, said how delighted he is, ‘To receive a second such positive report on one of the trusts school so soon after the first is a real achievement’.
